Saturday 2nd August saw the community come together for Goompi NAIDOC Day.
There were some wonderful stalls of a variety of items for sale from pottery and crocheted items to t-shirts, jewellery, hats, face-painting, bags, arts and crafts.
There were hands on activities such as lino printing, grass skirt making, interactive marine tanks, bush food talks and many more enjoyable things to do.
You were spoilt for choice with the range of food on offer too! There was a long line for the MMEIC Elders van and it was so with the wait for their delicious foods as well as seafood, burgers, fairy floss, jams, eugaries etc. that were also on offer.
Artwork created by our students were on display in the library and signed and hand printed banners hung on display on the oval. One of the highlights of the day was the traditional dancing, with many members of our school taking part. It was fabulous to see so many members of our school and community there enjoying to day.
