On Tuesday, our four Dunwich State School EcoMarine Ambassadors attended the EcoMarine Ambassador training day at Tangalooma Resort on Moreton Island. Lilly, Milla, Rubi and Leo joined 30 other schools and over 200 students from schools around the Greater Brisbane region to learn the importance of protecting Moreton Bay.

They listened to representatives from Moreton Island Rangers, Cleanaway and other guest speakers, participated in team building exercises, had fun with a scavenger hunt, had some free time on the beach and swimming in the bay, and of course the favourite event of the day, feeding the dolphins at the world’s most respected dolphin feeding program, right here at Tangalooma.

Two of our Dunwich EcoMarine students were also chosen to give a Welcome to Country at the start of the event. Both Lilly and Rubi, although a little bit nervous, spoke beautifully showing a lot of respect for our Traditional custodians. Their parents, the school and community would feel very proud.
