Jasa, Milla, Leo, Rubi and Lilly visited the Port of Brisbane as part of National Reconciliation Week to recognise Australia's Indigenous culture and reconciliation journey for our Country's past, present and future. Reconciliation Australia's theme for 2021, More than a word. Reconciliation takes action, urges the reconciliation movement towards braver and more impactful action.   After the welcome to country the children joined in a smoking ceremony.  They also saw the unveiling of the “Journey through the bay to the river, 2020" artwork by renowned Quandamooka artist, (our very own) Delvene Cockatoo-Collins. While there, they took part in a workshop - screen printing with past student Sachem using one of Delvene's designs to create their own artworks as pictured above. They had a wonderful experience.
