Our school celebrated NAIDOC Week from 13-17th July. Students took part in a wide range of activities over the course of the week in keeping with the 2020 theme 'Always Was, Always Will Be.' All of the staff and children painted a padlock which was later locked onto the wire fence in the shape of the letters of NAIDOC. Students iced biscuits in the colours of an aboriginal or Torres Strait Island flag, as well as beaded a bracelet or anklet for themselves. They played indigenous games, made damper, got their faces painted with ochre and danced in a corroboree near the yarning circle. It was a wonderful week enjoyed by all.
